Conti Moore Law Divorce Lawyers, PLLC is proud to announce that Attorney Amina D. Turner has achieved board certification in Marital and Family Law by The Florida Bar. This accomplishment reflects years of dedication, hard work, and a commitment to providing exceptional representation for family law clients throughout Central Florida.

Board certification is one of the highest levels of evaluation by The Florida Bar. It recognizes attorneys who have demonstrated extensive experience, advanced knowledge, professionalism, and ethical standards in a specific area of law.

What Does Board Certification in Family Law Mean?

The Florida Bar’s board certification program helps identify attorneys who have special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in a particular area of practice. Around 5% of the Florida Bar’s members are board-certified in at least one of its 27 specialty programs.

To become board-certified in Marital and Family Law, an attorney must meet rigorous requirements that go beyond those needed to practice law.

The requirements include:

  • Practicing law for at least five years
  • Spending at least 50% of their practice on marital and family law matters for the last five years
  • Handling at least 25 contested family law cases, including seven trials, in the five years preceding the application
  • Completing 75 hours of approved continuing legal education in the last five years
  • Passing a peer review process
  • Passing a comprehensive written examination

Because of these standards, only a select group of Florida attorneys earn board certification in family law.

Support from the Conti Moore Law Divorce Lawyers, PLLC Team

Turner credits much of her success to the support she received from her colleagues at Conti Moore Law Divorce Lawyers, PLLC. According to Turner, the firm’s leadership and attorneys worked together to help create an environment where she could focus on preparing for the examination.

“Conti made sure I had the supporting team members to cover my case load while I studied, she purchased the Florida Law Weekly so I could review the last 2 years of every family law case that was published, she covered the cost for me to [attend] conferences, [supported my] continuing education, [and] assisted with making introductions to another board certified family law attorney to be available as a resource,” Turner said.

The firm’s attorneys regularly discussed legal developments, case law updates, and family law issues throughout the preparation process.

“Our team was always motivating and encouraging me throughout the journey and really helped create the environment that allowed me to dedicate the time to study and pass the exam,” Turner said.

Extensive Family Law Experience

Board certification requires substantial courtroom and litigation experience. Over the years, Turner has handled a wide range of complex family law matters, which have helped qualify her for certification.

Turner has also worked on cases involving multiple professionals, including therapists, Guardian ad Litem, parent coordinators, and child therapists. These experiences have allowed her to develop advanced litigation and advocacy skills while helping clients navigate difficult family law issues.

Continuing to Serve Florida Families

While preparing for the certification exam, Turner found that the knowledge she gained immediately improved her day-to-day practice.

“The last several years I’ve improved the way I advocate for clients and litigation skills by honing in on case law, research, and following updates on changes in family law,” Turner said. “I utilized the information I learned while studying for the exam and implemented it in my daily work to zealously advocate for my clients and achieve positive results.”
